
NUTRITION ASSESSMENT
Nutrition Assessment is a continuous process that involves gathering and analyzing data to identify nutrition-related problems, their causes, and significance. The primary aim of this process is to obtain accurate information needed to develop a personalized nutrition plan for an individual. It involves a thorough evaluation of an individual's current nutritional status, including their dietary habits, physical activity level, medical history, and lifestyle factors. The Nutrition Assessment process is vital as it provides a baseline of information that can be used to monitor changes and assess the effectiveness of interventions over time.​

The Nutrition Assessment contrasts with, nutrition monitoring and evaluation. We use the data to determine changes in your behavior, nutritional status, and the efficacy of nutrition intervention.

What to expect during your first visit:

We’ll ask about your goals, objectives, and reasons for wanting to see a registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. We’ll review your baseline health levels, based on your current diet, weight, and exercise history. we will analyze your medical history, including any medications and supplements you’re currently taking. We will inquire about your lifestyle, to get a sense of your stress levels, sleep patterns, energy levels, exercise, and gastrointestinal function. We will measure your body measurements and composition then using the results gathered, we will determine your calorie and nutrient needs, and develop a custom nutrition plan to help you make better food choices.
Prior to your first visit, you will be asked to keep a food diary of everything you consumed, 24 hours prior to the appointment.
The assessment takes approximately, 60-90 minutes to complete,
